Night Without Light

Persuasive pattern of stars and stripes
Like a barber pole zebra
Stars that guide us home at night
Feeling like fireflies in fury
Blinking like pulses of flashes
With all things that go bump in the night
Darkness removed from darkness
such is night without light
The emptiness of what is quiet and still
To be filled with the frequent sequence of thrill
We only have our time to kill
Strike the tip of the match between your teeth
Taste the sulpher burning your lips
All words of foul tendancy should taste much bitter
