Chances and Choice

It seems as though

You would remember

Something if it were important

You said that you forgot

Something I was obviously denied

And you need to decide

Because in this world

You cannot have your cake and eat it too

You can’t take for granted

Thing that were done for you

You have to show

That what you say you feel is true

Because I cannot always wait for you

It makes me wonder

What your real intentions are

I have not seen very much so far

I can give you chances

But they’ll soon run out

You have to give me reasons

Not to doubt

I want to believe that this will work

I am trying so hard; too hard

Like I’m pulling this rope

And you are not pulling back

I still meet with resistance

I know you are afraid to commit to me

You are afraid to take this seriously

But I really need you to take time to think

And let me know what your answer will be

I cannot wait forever

When there is somewhere else

That I could be

When there is someone else
