I do not need the burden
Of worry and of doubt
Hanging over my head
Casting shadows from above
I keep wanting to believe
In something that may never be
The one thing I have little faith in
Unfortunately is me
There seems to be many mountains to climb
So much to do
Never enough time
To even contemplate this era
Of holding your breath and diving
Into dark waters
Holding out your hands
To break the surface
To alert you to change your course
If there is trouble underneath
So much for the wishing
That the work might somehow
Get itself done for you
The path has not yet been created
Like tall grass that has not been trampled
The earth has not been worn away
By footsteps of those who are unaware
Of those who have passed before them
