Learning Lessons

We are both frustrated
With each other
With these turns of events
I would not allow
Nature to take over
Because nature
Has never been my ally
I was so happy
And it showed
Every time you smiled
I glowed
Things can go wrong
If we wait too long
To talk about things
To sort them out
To figure out
What we really want
I know what I want
All that I have missed
Since the first time
We kissed
All that I will miss
Because we can’t
Keep going like this
Things have to change
I have to change
I have to show you
That I can change
That I will change
Maybe in time
We will both change
And hopefully
This will just be a lesson
That was hard
To learn
But necessary
To learn
