Kissing it All Goodbye

Sometimes it's hard to tell
If this is Heaven or if this is Hell
My lips seem poised to the suggestion
That I could kiss it goodbye at any time
Rare enough for such a thought
That everything could be taken away
That it could take less than a day
Some go far enough to say
That they'd want it that way
They think living is the hardest part
It can be if you let it be
What could be easier than waking up?
What could be easier than keeping your eyes open?
Keeping your ears open?
In case someone has something to tell you
Something that you needed to know
Something you would have missed
If you were thinking only of yourself
Too many people are selfish
If it weren't for selfishness there would be
Less frustration
Thus life would get easier
And nobody would even think about
Kissing it all goodbye
