Inevitable Irony

I'm not sure
What to expect
Things to get better?
Sure! If they get worse first
People tell me to have hope
Hope hurts
How can I say
That any other way?
I wanted to make some big changes
I waited for something exciting to happen
I thought something exciting was happening
Bad timing is such ignorant irony
Yet, life goes on
Much as it did before
Still wondering why this keeps happening
Messed up circumstances
Lead to even more messed up circumstances
I don't want to look at it that way
But something has to give. Sometime.
I can't keep trying for nothing
Because I'm forced to accept this reality
I don't like those circumstances
That are always inevitable
