I can’t wrap my mind around
Recent discoveries
Almost as if I never woke up
From a nightmare
Such as it is becoming
And I can’t stop thinking about it
Every waking minute
The only chance of escape
Is any chance I get
To sleep, If I can get
To sleep at all
The sunlight burns my eyes
Full of sand and barely open
How can I cope?
When there is nothing left
For which to have hope?
How can I pretend?
As if nothing happened?
So close to home
My past catching up
At every turn
It is taunting me
Haunting me
That is the reason
I cannot sleep
I cannot find rest
