Stream of Steam

I cannot deny
Such an incident
How people always
Are afraid of
This happening to them
Never knowing that
This type of thing
Could happen to them
Never thinking about
The possibility
Of such insanity
Until you start to question
Yourself and motives
Your stomach sinking
And you know you’re thinking
Too much for your own good
I never thought he would
Even when he talked to me
I should have been able to
Read between the lines
Picked up some clue
Minds snap
Like a breaking balloon
Too much thinking
Minds over expand
And reach a breaking point
Like a pot of water
Simmer to a boil
A steady stream
Of steam
Always burned by
What we never see
How can we see?
What we refused to see?
Why does it have to be?
Too late
Before it makes sense to me?
