Stagger forth unannounced
Vandals slashed your life line
Cut you to pieces out of the dark
Laughed as you walked home
Stood in the doorway as you arrived
Forcing you to back away
From your own home
Trying to convince them
That they had no right to be there
Your protests met with the same blank stare
That says there is nothing for which to care
You wanted the truth to be known?
Then why don't you lie to yourself again?
Pretend; that the beginning is the end
Fear downright deepening
The seriousness seeping in
Finally starting to click
Like the hammer being pulled back
And your whole world fading to black
